Alamo Decorative Artists (ADA) is the local chapter of the Society of Decorative Painters for South Texas.  The chapter was affiliated by the Society of Decorative Painters (SDP) in 1988 and is devoted to the advancement of decorative painting through education and community service activities.  The group welcomes painters of all levels and follows the guidelines as outlined by SDP.  ADA is one of the more than 300 local chapters of SDP.

From our President

Welcome to the website of the Alamo Decorative Artists.  We are a group of individuals who meet once or more each month to enjoy our passion for painting. We learn, teach, and paint all kinds of mediums and various surfaces.  We have all levels of skills, such as beginners, intermediates and advanced.

I would like to invite you to join us by visiting one of our general meetings on the first Friday of each month (except July), at 9:30 am, at Lion's Field on Broadway at the corner of Mulberry.  Our other activities include seminars  with internationally-known and local teachers; regular after-meeting and special skills development classes; yearly auction, and other trips or special activities planned each year.  We publish a monthly newsletter, the Alamo Tole-A-Gram, which is free to members with their $15 yearly dues.  And, we share our talents with our community in programs like Society of Decorative Painters sponsored Memory Box project at local hospitals and Soldier's Boxes at the Wounded Warriers Center at Ft. Sam Houston.

Beginning March 3, 2012 we will be having a Saturday morning meeting at Independence Hill from 9a.m.-1p.m. This is in addition too not instead of. The purpose of these meetings will be to introduce professional working women to decorative painting. So far we have had enormous response to the endeavor and are very excited about it's future opportunities. Along with this, there will be refreshments served as well as door prizes  handed out.
